PROSTHETIC LIMBS FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS AMPUTEES

Donation protected
Did you know that women and girls with disabilities are three times more likely to experience gender-based violence compared to non-disabled women? They also lag behind in educational attainment and face barriers in the labour market.

My name is Irene Olumese. I am a bilateral amputee. I believe missing limbs should not be a limitation to living a full and vibrant life.
I have been raising funds since 2015 to support Feet of Grace to provide prosthetic limbs and wheelchairs for indigent amputees who cannot afford the exorbitant cost of prosthetic rehabilitation services. The Foundation has more than 30 girls and women on the waiting list for limbs in 2023.

The following girls, young ladies and women are some of those who are in urgent need of prosthetic limbs.

Nneoma is an above-the-knee amputee who received her first leg from the Foundation in 2017. She is a fast-growing teenager. At the age of 14 years old, she has outgrown the second limb and is in urgent need of her third leg.

Saliu Sakinah is 14 years old. She was born with a congenital disorder that necessitated the amputation of the leg in 2010. Saliu has been waiting for a prosthetic limb for the past 13 years of her life.

Joy Fasan is a 15-year-old student. She had a traumatic amputation of her leg following an accident in April 2014. She has been using a pair of crutches to move around since then. She is in desperate need of a prosthetic limb.

Rebecca Idowu is a 25-year-old hair stylist who lost her leg following a road traffic accident in 2019. Standing to work has become extremely difficult for her. Her family cannot afford the cost of the prosthetic limb she needs.

Adijat Adeyemi lost her left leg at the age of 6 when she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road. She is 28 years and currently works as a make-up artist. She cannot afford the cost of the prosthetic limb she needs to make life and work easier for her.

Anuoluwa Folashade is 30 years old woman who was hawking foodstuff before she was knocked down by a car. She has been unable to work since the amputation of her leg. She desires to regain her autonomy so she can walk and work again.

Together, we can make the dream of walking again come true for these women and girls with missing limbs.
