Hello, my name is Geeth.

A few years ago, my school friend Isuru lost his leg in a tragic accident. Despite this huge setback, he showed amazing courage and resilience. He learned to drive a tuk tuk using hand controls and turned it into his only source of income to support his wife and two young children.

But recently, his tuk tuk broke down completely. Without it, he lost his job overnight. Now the family of four is struggling to survive. Their younger child has asthma and needs regular medication plus a special diet that has become very difficult to afford.

Isuru is a proud, hardworking man who has never asked for help. He just wants to provide for his family with dignity.

The biggest hope for his future is a proper prosthetic leg. With a good artificial limb, Isuru can walk again, move more freely, return to driving his tuk tuk (or find other suitable work), and become the strong provider his family needs.

In Sri Lanka, a decent, comfortable modular prosthetic leg with proper fitting and training usually costs between 500,000 – 800,000 LKR (roughly £1,200 – £1,900 at current rates). This includes measurement, custom socket, alignment, and physiotherapy so he can use it safely every day.

I’ve already supported Isuru as much as I personally can before starting this fundraiser, but the cost of a proper prosthetic and his family’s needs are far beyond what I can manage alone. Now I’m reaching out to kind people around the world — if we come together, we can give him this life-changing gift.

• The prosthetic leg (custom-made and professionally fitted)

• Physiotherapy and gait training to learn to walk properly again

• Some immediate support for the family (children’s medicine, food, and basic needs) while Isuru recovers and gets back on his feet
