Prosthetic for Preacher Mike

Donation protected

As many of you already know, On Tuesday November24th, Pastor Mike Snelgrove (my father) was involved in a very serious hunting accident. While getting into his tree-stand his rifle discharged and went through his right arm. Immediately God stepped in. Despite a large amount of blood loss, and a difficult rescue situation (he was in a 20' tree stand) he was able to come down, be airlifted off of the property, and by God's grace his life was saved.

We are so grateful to the Lord for sparing Dad's life and understand the many ways this situation could have ended. Having been there first hand, I can tell you with certainty, had God not stepped in and worked a miracle in those initial moments, my Dad would not be with us.

Dad's life had been spared, unfortunately however, (despite an amazing effort by a well equipped trauma team and surgeon) he ended up losing his right hand, wrist, and a small portion of his lower forearm.

In the past few weeks, God has been working ahead of us situation-after-situation. First and foremost providing much needed comfort to our family as we begin to wrap our minds around this situation, and how our lives will be different going forward.

As you can imagine, the financial burden of this accident is fairly immense. God is good, however, and has worked things out with insurance and health care providers. The vast majority of hospital, surgical, and first responder costs (life-flight helicopter rides are very very expensive) have been provided.

Unfortunately, as is the case with most insurance providers, the cost of recovery, physical therapy, and ultimately a prosthetic device will not be covered.

We believe God will continue to do his work, but we are also asking for your help. We are working with doctors and clinicians to try and provide the best we can for Dad in terms of a prosthetic device (or a combination of a few) that will allow him to continue in his life with some resemblance of normalcy. These devices and the ongoing care/therapy that go with them are sadly very, very expensive.

We ask that you prayerfully consider if you can help Mom & Dad out. The quality of his care and prosthetic are directly tied to if/how we can raise funds for them as this is completely an "out-of-pocket" expense at this point.

We are looking to have our first visits with our Prosthetist in the next week or so, and will adjust our goal as we learn more about what Dad will need.

Above all, we ask that you continue to pray for Dad as he still struggles with pain . The healing process for this level of trauma is very slow. Also pray that God will comfort him as he daily confronts his loss of limb, and learns a new way to do all the things he loves....

We love you all so very much.

Thank you for all of your continued support.
