My name is Sam and I’m a 20 year old student from Maidstone. Prostate Cancer became an important matter for me late last year when a loved one was diagnosed. Due to Covid-19 and other illnesses, he has been waiting for 4 months to have his prostate removed and has been told it will be at least another 4 months before the operation can be considered.
In light of this (having never run a half marathon) I have decided to run 7 half marathons in 7 days for my family member, and for anyone else whose necessary operations or health care have been cancelled due to our current crisis. Any contributions and donations would be hugely appreciated to help save lives and raise awareness about Prostate Cancer.
More information about Prostate Cancer UK: Prostate Cancer UK is here to stop prostate cancer being a killer. One man dies from prostate cancer every hour in the UK and deaths from prostate cancer are set to soar over the next decade. By finding better tests, better treatments, better prevention and better support we aim to dramatically reduce the number of men dying from prostate cancer.
