Prosperity Pie Fundraiser
UPDATE: It's been an intense week! The new oven is installed and programmed. Employees are trained, and we'll reopen tomorrow at noon. We hope you will come celebrate with us. THANK YOU to everyone that has been so generous with us! Truly we have an amazing community
We reached our original goal of $5k yesterday, and now that we have a clearer sense of the true cost of paying our employees for missed work, we've increased our goal to $7k, so that all 10 of our employees will not be harmed from being out of business for six days. We will pay them no matter what, yet given that we are still reaching towards sustainability, every dollar helps towards helping this business thrive while serving the community and our beloved employees.

On March 18th our oven malfunctioned and smoke billowed into our cafe, which has resulted in losing all food inventory and will require 3-4 days of restoration work. We were blessed with a quick responding fire department, a super competent insurance agent, and employees willing to jump in and help. While our insurance will cover much of this expense, replacing the oven will cost $4k more than they will give us and there's a $1k deductible.
Would you be willing to help us get back on our feet quickly, so our employees can get back to work and we don't lose customers?
This business has been a labor of love for almost three years, and we are on the brink of finally becoming sustainable. We are fully committed to providing a community gathering space, excellent food, and financial education. We support local artist and musicians by showcasing their work. We have a weekly Open Mic so everyone can have a place to express themselves. In January we launched our Second Chance program, in partnership with the Family Preservation Project, to hire women transitioning out of incarceration. There is so much we want to do -- complete our B-Corp certification, increase awareness of the classes/events we offer, start a barista training program in the prison -- and we need your support!
If you love Prosperity Pie Shoppe, and want us to thrive, please consider a donation-- nothing is too small or too big! Share with friends. Visit when we reopen this weekend (hopefully!)-- It takes a village to keep small businesses open, and we are grateful for the generous community we are part of.
With Gratitude,

Please Note: any funds raised over the $5k will be used to support our Second Chance program, providing training and mentorship to moms as they return to civilian life. Thank you!
