Promoting ecokids for the future.

Looking at our society today and with the prevailing climatic changes in the world,creating environmental conscious behavior amongst children aged 5-12 years for a healthier planet is important. Children grow up with little or no knowledge on the protection of their environment, more so connecting with nature.little has been done in building local capacity of these children on the role of environmental protection in their society case study Cameroon Bamenda. This project therefore seeks to build the capacity of 50 children on environmental best practices and the fight to combat climate change.Further triggering conscious environmental behaviour of these children. In other to achieve this goals, we will capitalize on the theory of change by organising boot camps with these children. This will provide opportunities for children to become sustainably conscious towards environmental issues,and best ways of protecting their environment. Further they will get engaged in the planting of 100trees which has a big role on combating climate change. These children will pay exchange visits to Zoos and Botanical gardens,giving them the opportunity to familiarize with various animal and plant species. They will have an opportunity to appreciate the rich biodiversity, connect with nature and perceive the need to conserve. This will also enagage in developing drama/sketches, documentaries,poetry on why protecting the environment while at the gardens.Video of these experience would be recorded and produced as documentary in order to promote the initiative and motivate more children to participate.
