I'm Adelle, the middle school science teacher at Miles Exploratory Learning Center in Tucson, Arizona. Our school serves deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing students in multi-aged classrooms.

This is going to be my 27th year of classroom teaching. Last year, I piloted using swivel chairs and stools in my classroom. I found that the ability for students to pay attention for longer periods of time went up substantially for those students who used more comfortable, padded chairs and stools that allowed them safe movement - versus wiggling and tipping back in traditional chairs and stools. I wrote a grant and have managed to fund an overhaul of all of my traditional classroom chairs for swivel office chairs, as well as replace twelve of my stools with the ones with the backs that you see pictured. This GoFundMe will allow me to purchase 10 more stools, which will complete the classroom set. This will include 8 more of the stools with backs, as well as two stools without, for front of the class use.

I can't wait to see the looks on my scholars' faces when they walk into their new science lab this year to find it full of more comfortable and adaptive seating that serves their learning needs!
