Promote Youth Chess Across Canada

Hi, we are 5 elementary students from Silver Stream Public School located in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. We are fundraising for our upcoming international chess tournament in Kazakhstan from Aug 3 to 8, 2023. We appreciate your time and consideration!

We are from different Grades of the school (i.e. Grade 2, Grade 5 & Grade 6), but we have a common interest - playing chess! Because of chess, we became good friends, learned to face challenges, developed problem-solving skills, remained calm under pressure and much more benefits through the games.

Fortunately, we put together as a team and won 1st place in the first-ever Canadian Schools Team Championship held on June 11th, 2023, which was an official national tournament hosted by the Chess Federation of Canada (CFC). We have also been invited to participate in the prestigious FIDE World Schools Team Championship 2023, which will take place in Kazakhstan from Aug 3 to 8, 2023. We are super proud of ourselves and very excited to represent Canada and the school to attend the World Final. This is a remarkable opportunity for us to compete against the best school teams around the world, showcase our skills on an international stage, inspire young players and promote the chess game across Canada!

However, due to the limited budget from the school and regional school board, to make it happen, financially we definitely need more support from all of you, who are warm-hearted, generous and supportive of Canadian youth chess players. Our success won't be fulfilled without you!
