Prom falls on Friday, April 24th, and for the exceptional students at Booker T. Washington High School, it’s more than just a dance—it’s a celebration of their hard work, resilience, and the unwavering support of their teachers and staff. After a full day of school, these students will head straight into an evening of joy and excitement, thanks to the dedication of Principal Tiauna Crooms, the Assistant Principal for Special Education, and the entire team who go above and beyond to make this night possible.

As a parent, I know firsthand how much effort goes into making prom night special. On this day, parents will be rushing their kids home to change and get ready, while teachers and staff will also be preparing themselves after a long week. By organizing the Prom Send Off, we hope to take this responsibility off their plates, allowing everyone to focus on celebrating and supporting our students.

The funds raised will provide corsages, boutonnieres, meals at Sea Salt at Howell Mill, non-alcoholic beverages, and help five students with prom tickets. These special touches will make the evening unforgettable for everyone involved, and will give parents and staff a much-needed break on this special day.
