LaunchPoint Empowering Tomorrows Leaders and Essential Hearts Home Healthcare would like to make the dreams come true for many of the foster and underprivileged youth in Maryland. Growing up in foster care, I learned early on what it means to go without. At just 14, I was working to cover my own needs, and I saw firsthand how many children like me missed out on experiences that others take for granted. For foster and underprivileged youth, milestones like prom can feel out of reach—not because they lack the desire to participate, but because they simply don’t have the support or resources to make it happen.
As prom season approaches in Maryland, several students have reached out for help. Without a parent or guardian to step in, they face the reality of sitting out a moment that should be filled with excitement, pride, and belonging. That’s why I started the Prom Dreams Fund: to ensure that every young person has the chance to show up, feel confident, and create memories that last a lifetime.
Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly toward removing the financial barriers that prevent these students from attending prom. Donations will be used to purchase prom attire and shoes, cover grooming and beauty services such as hair, nails, or barbering, and assist with prom ticket costs and related fees. Your support doesn’t just buy a dress or a suit—it restores confidence, creates memories, and tells a young person, “You matter, and you are worthy of showing up.” If you’re looking for a tangible way to make a real impact, this is it. Thank you for choosing to be part of a young person’s moment and for helping turn obstacles into opportunities.
