Project Presentation
I am currently in the midst of preparing my first EP, which will consist of 5 instrumental tracks that I composed and arranged. This EP will be named "Vagabond."
I was born and raised on the Island of Mauritius. Issued from a musical family, I started playing the violin at the age of 14. Mauritius is the epitome of diversity in every aspect including its history, culture, people, food, and music. I was influenced by this diversity in music including the Séga as well as traditional music originating from many different ethnicities such as African, Chinese and Indian origins.. In France, I discovered the traditional music of folk balls and its various sounds. This EP is therefore the result of a blend of styles.
During the lockdown, I had the opportunity to compose and deepen these pieces, and I am eager to present them to you properly.
But then, what might this blend look like?
What are the expenses for :
The goal is to release the album in July.
The expenses will include:
- Compensation for the musicians for a rehearsal and recording session
- 2 days of recording session at Soundlab studio with Jean Paul Pellegrinelli in Grenoble
- Mixing and Mastering, which will be done in Belgium by Michel Grondin
- Additional funds can be used for pressing, graphic design, and video
Who is participating in the project ?
The main participants in this project are the musicians, including an accordionist, a double bassist, a percussionist, and a guitarist. There is also a photographer, a graphic designer, and especially the sound engineers.
