Project Relax, b/c Cancer Sucks!

As many of our friends and family know my dad, Kent Bulloch, was diagnosised with cholorectal cancer last month. The good news is the prognosis is very good as it was found early and the diagnosis lends itself to a slew of jokes... humor is the best medicine right?  For all of you who have been asking how you can help. The first round of treatment Kent is on is relatively benign on the scale of cancer treatment. Aside from the fact that he needs to have treatment every day, and is experiencing some fatigue, things are business as usual. So if you have the strong desire to play disc golf, bridge, watch the Giants now that they have clinched he wild card spot, watch the 49ers lose, play trivia crack, or are either going through a divorce, filing bankruptcy, or need a trust, Kent is your guy. Cancer sucks, but doesn’t need to stop him from living his life, doing his work, or making terrible jokes.

Nora, on the other hand is always ready for walks, drinks at FLO, phone calls from friends near and far, or intense talks about the newest nutrition research or this election cycle.

My parents are amazingly generous people who genuinely care about all of the people in their lives and have always gone above and beyond to lend assistance when asked. I think they are more comfortable helping others than receiving help themselves. If you would like to help them through this difficult time beyond what I have mentioned above this is what I have decided they need (they won’t ask for anything, so I am making some oldest child choices). I want them to be able to enjoy their downtime and relax when they can. I know when I am done with the work day I have trouble unwinding if my house needs to be cleaned or the family needs to be feed. "Project relax - b/c cancer sucks" is a fund for a weekly housekeeper, and occasional takeout meals, etc to make the work/ treatment week a little more relaxing.

Thank you to all of you have reached out to my family in this difficult time. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful community of friends and family. #kickingasscancer
