First Firefighter To Summit Mount Everest In Kit

Hi my name is Rhys Fitzgerald and I'm going to be the first person to ever climb Mount Everest in full Firefighting gear! I need your help to make this possible.

I will be raising awareness for Mind Mental Health, The Firefighters Charity along with the Nimsdai Foundation clean up.

Mind is important to me as my friends and family have struggled with mental health, Even myself has struggled with it. I've been a firefighter for several years now and times have changed with the variety calls we respond to, but it's not just the Fire service, it's all organisations on the front line. It’s important to speak out to your colleagues, friends and family, to seek help if needed no matter how big or small your matter is.

What I found helps me was to escape into the fresh air and get up the mountains. Due to this my hobby has lead me here, to push myself physically and mentally and to spread awareness about mental health.

While also doing a clean up on the mountains along the way!

Another thing…. I will also be setting World Records along the way!

Before summiting Mount Everest in 2025 I will be summiting Ama Dablam in 2024.

The target donations is a 50/50 split between covering the cost to break this world record and to be donated the three amazing charities but anything over the target will go straight to the charities as well.
