Project Uplift - Free Mental Wellbeing for All

Hi, I’m Sarit, and my mission in life is to help people uplift themselves. Why? I suffered from depression from the age of 15 until my early 30s (and most recently during Covid-19!), and over the past 10 years I’ve learnt a wealth of mental wellbeing techniques that I know can help people who are struggling, just like I was.

For every £100 raised through this campaign,  I will run a free 1 hour mental wellbeing workshop for up to 20 people.

The more sessions I can run, the more people I can support, and the more frequently I can run them, the easier it will be to help people cultivate great mental wellbeing habits. 

I’ve developed skills and knowledge in Self-Awareness, Meditation (Mindful /Spiritual), Gratitude and Self-Kindness practices  from my own life experience, training as a Happiness Facilitator and working with the amazing folks at the Museum of Happiness, and by becoming a Tao Hands healing practitioner. I have delivered workshops on Happiness, Stress Management, Gratitude, Pick Me Up Poetry and more for the Museum of Happiness, Mental Fight Club, the University of Reading, Hestia, Jami and others. The benefits of Gratitude  and Kindness  have been proven in many scientific studies, the latter showing reduction of anxiety and depression , strengthening of the immune system , lowering of blood pressure and more.
I currently run a start-up called Highest Good Wellbeing (see my free weekly services ), a mental wellbeing company dedicated to helping people discover and develop their own mental wellbeing toolkits. I’m still building a strong foundation for the company, but I am determined to support people at this enormously challenging time, and especially with the days getting darker and colder, a Corona Christmas approaching and Blue Monday to follow. Here’s a sample of the science-backed content I offered for free during the first lockdown (feel free to contact me if you'd like to see my full brochure of potential content):With all this in mind, I have launched Project Uplift, a series of online workshops to help people build their own mental wellbeing toolkits, and cultivate habits that nourish their energy, however low they are feeling. I did an initial whip round of friends and family to see how much I could raise, and got to £160, so last week (Friday 27th November), I offered my first free Project Uplift workshop . It went really well, but I would like to support more people more often, so here’s the plan:

For every £100 raised, I will offer a 1 hour workshop at least once a week, between 30th November 2020 and 30th January 2021 (9 weeks). I will post the links to these events here and on my social media accounts (@highestgoodwellbeing) and they will be open to all (please see below re 20 person limit for live events).

I will record the main part of the workshop (the mental wellbeing toolkit section - see format below!) from the audience’s view (so that only I am visible, not the participants) and make it available via my social media accounts and eventually my website (in progress!).

Expenses:

1 hour workshop facilitated by me @ £100 each, with a minimum aim of once a week for 9 weeks = £900 - £60 raised offline (£100 already used for first workshop on 27th November) = £840

Marketing budget: £6 per week for ads on Facebook (minimum spend is £0.76p): £6 x 9 weeks = £54

Total: £894

Considerations:

The recording will only show me, to ensure that all participants feel safe and comfortable, and all will be welcome even with their cameras and mics off.

I will set the limit of live participants for each workshop at 20 people to enable me to hold the space professionally and support participants properly.

I aim to tailor every service I offer to the specific audience I'm working with, but it may not be entirely possible due to the logistics of this project. I will, however, continuously seek feedback from participants, to ensure that I am meeting the needs of those attending. I have seen too many people suffer during this pandemic, and I really want to be there to help them tune in to what they need to nourish their energy, and help them learn to top it up. If we nourish ourselves, we're in a much better position to help others, and do it with a big smile rather than from a place of burnout.

If we work together, we can help more people uplift themselves this winter and make 2021 a better normal for everyone!
