Don protégé
My name is Ryan Bliss and for the last 25 years I've operated Digital Blasphemy 3D Wallpapers as my sole source of income. I create 3D rendered images designed primarily for use as computer desktop backgrounds and host them at a variety of different sizes to fit everything from your mobile device up to triple 5K screen workstations.
Since the late '90s I've used a program called VUE to create landscape renders (which make up the bulk of my library) and have used a workstation built specifically to handle those renders. VUE uses the CPU to render so I have used dual-CPU machines to make rendering with VUE as quick as possible. The GPU is only used when laying out the scene.
Unfortunately the company that owns VUE has decided to mothball the software. It will never be updated again. If I want to keep evolving my work I need to move on to more modern software packages such as Blender, Cinema4D or Unreal Engine. Those systems as designed to render using the GPU and do not require a dual-CPU system.
My current system, Rochallor, was built five years ago using your amazing donations. It renders VUE landscapes quickly but isn't really suited for GPU rendering. I can't really add a modern GPU either because the motherboard isn't designed for it.
Here I am again asking if you would like to help me build a new system to tackle GPU rendering. The system I'm eyeing will feature two Nvidia 5090RTX graphics cards and be powered by a single AMD Threadripper CPU. I hope to have at least 256GB of RAM.
If you would like to help me build this system and take my work to the next level I hope you will consider making a small donation to Project Tiamat. My previous workstations have been named for fast horses but this is a different beast altogether so I'm naming it after one of the most powerful dragons of all time.
Thanks so much for supporting my work throughout the years! With your help I hope to continue decorating your backgrounds for decades to come!
