Project Rise — A Space for Children to Grow
My name is Puranjaye Bhatia. I left Switzerland and moved to Karbi Anglong, Northeast India. I live at a local ashram, collaborate with the Art of Living NGO, and visit rural schools and villages.
In July we provided 25+ bicycles so children could reach school and stay in education. Word spread. Children began coming to the ashram. I started English classes, then added drawing, music, dance, games, and simple yoga and meditation. Their eagerness showed a clear need for more space and steady time together. We now welcome them each week with local volunteers present.
Goal (Aug–Dec 2025): CHF 3,500
CHF 1,500 — Classes at the Art of Living centre, basic upkeep, and the Youth Talent Show.
CHF 2,000 — Sport Boxes and Learning Kits to reach nearby schools.
How we’ll start now
Weekly classes at the Art of Living centre: outside when dry, indoors if it rains. Four classes each week of English; arts and crafts; singing and dance; yoga and meditation as well as sports.
Cultural events that build confidence: Yoga competition, 24 August 2025, and a Youth Talent Expression show in late September 2025.
Remote reach with portable kits: one Learning Kit and one Sport Box for pop-up sessions in nearby schools and villages.
What your gift funds:
- Sport Box: 4 badminton rackets, 5 shuttles, 2 nets (for bamboo posts), 1 volleyball, 2 footballs, 1 pump, 2 small foldable goals.
- Class materials: arts and crafts supplies, paper, pens, notebooks.
- Learning Kit (in development as we learn local needs): storybooks and readers, small whiteboard, world maps, simple games.
- Basics for children: snacks and refreshments.
- Storage materiel: outdoor waterproof decks and shades.
Donor tiers (CHF)
- CHF 20 — snacks and water for one week

This is not only my dream. It belongs to the children who keep coming, and to anyone who believes a small, steady space can change a life.
