They say “third times the charm” right?!? Well, that’s the hope for us. We’re Joe and Brandy and this is our IVF journey. We married back in 2012 knowing we wanted to start a family pretty quickly. So in 2013, we started trying. 2 years later we realized something wasn’t working and we went to see a specialist. Turns out, 1 in 8 couples suffer from infertility and we’re the 1.
In 2015, we went through our 1st round of IVF and transferred 2 beautiful embryos. We were unsuccessful and none of our embabies made it through freeze. We were heartbroken. We took a break and thought we’d try on our own for a little while, again no luck. Fast forward to 2018 l, we found a new specialist and jumped in head first. Knowing that IVF was our only option, we did all of the standard testing and ended up with one perfect little embryo that decided not to stick around. This time we were devastated. We didn’t understand what was going wrong. Last year we decided that we were going to give IVF one more try, and, as we all know, a pandemic happened. Nevertheless, we decided to push through. Our previous clinic rolled over into a new clinic. Some new Dr’s, some former. However, this time around, our Dr’s are being very thorough with more in-depth testing. While all the additional testing increases our chances, it definitely comes with a cost.
I was very hesitant to share our journey. This is not an easy request for us. After almost 9 yrs of trying to conceive, endless tears, empty arms, sleepless nights, and long conversations with our closest family and friends, we’ve decided to press on.
IVF is our only option for conception. We are tentatively scheduled for our retrieval this June and the 7k will help cover a portion of treatment and medications which needs to be paid in full prior to the procedure. Our embabies will be genetically tested this go round, to give us the best possible outcome, which means a frozen transfer and our eta is roughly August timeframe.
If you know us at all, you know more than anything we’d love to become parents, it’s been a forever dream. If you're unable to donate, which we completely understand, we just ask that you keep us in your thoughts and well wishes, while we muddle through this tough journey and maybe even give it a share.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, love to you all!
