Hi, my name is Jihan Ahmed, and alongside my co-founders Tasnim Irisha and Kishona Jeyaseelan, I am fundraising for our non-profit organization, Project Noor.
We believe a very simple truth: potential exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. Millions of children worldwide are completely cut off from a quality education due to poverty, lack of local infrastructure, and a lack of support for students living with disabilities.
We are raising funds to change that, starting with building a primary school in Bangladesh.
What is Project Noor?
Project Noor is a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to quality education for underserved children while sharing their incredible stories with the world.
Our physical school will serve students from Classes 1 to 8. We aren't just teaching core subjects like Math, English, and Science... we are focused on the entire child. Our curriculum will deeply emphasize:
Academic Excellence: Preparing students with the tools they need for a modern world, including technology and languages.
Mental & Physical Wellness: Providing emotional wellness education, stress management skills, hygiene awareness, and proper nutrition.
True Accessibility & Inclusion: Building a school with physical ramps, accessible washrooms, and specialized training for teachers so children with physical, intellectual, or sensory disabilities are fully supported and celebrated.
Digital Storytelling: "One Minute of Noor"
Beyond the classroom walls, we want to shift global perspectives. Through our digital storytelling initiative, "One Minute of Noor," we will use social media to share short, powerful videos highlighting our students' talents, personal goals, and creative achievements. We want to give these underrepresented youth a global voice and show the world exactly what they are capable of achieving.
