Tax deductible
Project Makom helps former or questioning Charedi Jews find their place in Judaism.
Our members agree that the most valuable thing they gain from Project Makom is a deep sense of community. We are there for those who are feeling isolated and out of step, confronted with the rejection of family, friends, and/or community. We are there for those wrestling with questions about where in the Jewish world they belong, what kinds of options are available, and how to get there.
Our monthly “drop in events” will allow our members to connect with others on a similar path and re-learn a healthy Judaism where questions are encouraged and different opinions are taught. Each drop in event is centered on a different topic, all focused on areas of interest to this population, such as transitioning to a community different from the one you grew up in, to ways to continue your education, to coping with family or friends who are judgmental.
This Project Makom Drop In Events crowdfunding campaing is being spearheaded by a member of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation network and has been awarded a matching grant. Schusterman is a global organization that seeks to ignite the passion and unleash the power in young people to create positive change for themselves, the Jewish community and the broader world.
