As everyone knows, Phil Love has worked for Steve Schmidt Competition Engines for over a decade and has been a tremendous asset.
Unfortunately, Phil has endured some very unfortunate medical situations, starting 7 years ago. As of February 2018, Phil has been in the hospital and they are anticipating that he will remain in the hospital at least for the next 3 months.
Phil recently underwent surgery to get part of his leg cleaned out and to remove the artificial hip due to an infection. While under anesthesia, Phil suffered a heart attack on the operating table and almost lost his life.
Phil has undergone numerous surgeries including a foot amputation in 2017. Phil has also battled many MRSA infections and is currently awaiting for the most recent MRSA infection to clear so that he can move forward with the process for his hip replacement.
Phil has not been able to work since this ordeal started , his wife is only able to work minimal hours due to his medical needs. Phil and his wife Carolyn, are at a loss and extremely overwhelmed with the amount of medical bills in addition to their living expenses.
Phil has too much pride to go out and ask for help himself. This is why we are reaching out to the racing community in hope that we can help his family out during this difficult time.
