Project 'Little Belle's House of Hope'

Hello everyone,

In August 2023, Little Belle’s Magical Sanctuary moved from the Netherlands to Portugal. Here, thanks to the overwhelming and incredible support of so many friends around the world, we finally have a place of our own, where we can continue helping animals in need and provide a forever home and loving family to dogs and other animals, especially those who are senior or require special care.

Since then, a lot has happened. One of the first things we needed to do was renovate the first floor of the house so we could already live there with the dogs. This was completed in January 2024, and soon after, the other dogs from the Netherlands were finally able to join us.

An important next step is renovating the ground floor of the house. The space we currently have is very limited, and we really need more room for the dogs.
We need to create a bathroom that will also serve as a washing area for the dogs, with space to groom the smaller dogs and change their bandages. We also hope to install a professional washing machine and dryer with a larger capacity, as we often have an enormous amount of laundry.
In addition, we need a kitchen where we can prepare the dogs’ meals and keep all their medicines and supplements organized in one place. The remaining space will be furnished as resting and sleeping areas for the dogs, along with storage space for their blankets, baskets, and other supplies.
Only in this way will we be able to continue growing the Sanctuary and help more dogs in need.
This “Little Belle’s House of Hope” project is expected to take about four months, depending on weather conditions and the availability of the contractor.
The average labor cost is approximately $2,800 per month, bringing the total labor cost to $11,200.
In addition, we will need to purchase all necessary materials. While the exact cost is not yet known, as materials will be determined and ordered during each phase of the renovation, we expect these costs to be at least $15,000.
This brings the estimated total renovation cost to approximately $26,200, which equals about €22,000 (this fundraiser can only be displayed in euros).

We have set the fundraising goal higher so we can already start preparing for the second phase of the project.
This way, the contractor can continue working without delay, even if additional funds are needed later.
The second phase is: After completing the ground floor, we will continue with the renovation of the adjacent half-ruined building, which is actually considered part of this project as well. This next phase will allow us to create even more space and facilities for the dogs, but it also means we will need to raise additional funds to bring this dream fully to life.

Would you love to help us? So we can take this next step?
That would be so beautiful and so very meaningful for Little Belle’s Magical Sanctuary. We can’t wait to continue helping animals in need at this amazing, peaceful, and magical place❤️

Love,
Little Belle, Irene & family
