For the last 2 years, I've been doing everything I can to help the wild world of indie comics. It started with a blog. It evolved into a podcast. Now, the world is moving to video, so I tried to follow suit with the livestreams and YouTube content.

Video editing isn't the easiest for the person or the machine. I've reached a point where I need new tech to keep the Blake's Buzz brand battle-ready.

Many of you know, I've recently found myself unemployed. I had to leave a job to save my mental health. Initially, they stopped our bonuses. Afterwards, they halted 401k matching and annual raises. I found myself stuck in a situation where benefits were being constantly removed while the workload constantly increased. I ended up having a panic attack on the clock. I've never had one before, and I thought I was having a heart attack. I thought I might die. It was during this episode, I was told I couldn't leave for the day. My acting manager told me, "I've been sick all night, but luckily, we work from home and I can handle it."

After talking to my friends and family, I realized I couldn't live like that anymore, and I quit the job. Unfortanetly, that meant returning the equipment I used to produce Blake's Buzz.

This community has been there for me and my family numerous times. I'm not trying to take advantage of that, but I do need help. I want to continue helping indie creators find their audience and make their dreams a reality. I want to try and turn this brand into a business, but to do that, I need some upgrades.

The initial ask of $800 is for a new laptop. Anything extra will be used for other production updates: a boom arm, lighting, maybe even a desk (my 'studio' is built atop a coffee table).

I love comics. I love livestreaming and podcasting and being a voice in a wonderfully nerdy community, but to do that correctly isn't cheap. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this. Anything helps, and everything is appreciated.
