Hello all.
If you're reading this you either got word directly from me, or a friend was kind enough to pass the word along to you.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Daniel and I am on a mission that is more important to me than anything, and one that I cannot accomplish on my own.
On March 7th 2023, my dear friends Josh and Ashley welcomed their beautiful baby boy Jaxon into this world, and were immediately faced with unfathomable hardship due to complications with Jaxon's heart, which resulted in open heart surgery (to correct his Tetralogy of Fallot) in June of that year, not too long after he was born.
It was after this first surgery that he had a string multiple strokes and seizures, further complicating his condition.
The first year of his life was nonstop extended hospital stays, emergency surgeries (most recently in January 2024), rehab and many other daunting obstacles that they had to navigate and adapt to.
But Jaxon is a chip off the old block like his father, a true warrior with the heart of a champion, in every sense of the word. He has come out on top with his parents in his corner, in every single battle.
Matter of fact, they just celebrated his 1st birthday in March of 2024, and are successfully getting adjusted to life outside of the hospitals.
As you can imagine, any parent would put everything on hold during times like these and that is exactly what Josh and Ashley have done. Working a 9 - 5 was out of the question with all the extended hospital stays, and when Jaxon was discharged, they opted to take point on his primary care so that they could maximize time together and get him back on his feet as one unit. There are still many complications that they must sort out.
We are all familiar with the financial burdens of modern healthcare. This experience has resulted in stacks of bills in excess of seven figures that no family should have to take care of, but this is the reality of the hand that has been dealt and right now their main focus is Jaxon's wellbeing and rehabilitation.
If ever there was an opportunity to do some good in this world it is here right now, and you can be a part of it if you feel called to do so.
I am humbly requesting that you contribute anything you can - so that we can collectively chip away at the financial burden they are facing.
There is a 100 mile marathon taking place on October 12th in Farmdale IL, and yours truly will be participating to pay tribute to this tenacious baby boy Jaxon and his unwavering warrior spirit.
This event PALES in comparison to what this boy and his parents have endured, and continue to endure, and it is a great honor to race under the banner of his name.
Anything helps, please spread the word.
From the depths of my soul, I thank you.
