I think we can all relate to having difficulties over the last couple of years, this pandemic has made things very challenging for everyone. Many people lost their lives, jobs and even their homes, others have just begun to fight for their lives.

Unfortunately, covid caused a lot of complications within our health system. Needed surgeries and treatments were cancelled, people with life-threatening diseases were left untreated and some even went undiagnosed causing diseases to spread rapidly.

This is what happened to Alex Hamilton. This is a post-Alex shared with his friend and family recently:

Quick Health Update.

I’ve been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer that has metastasized to my lymph nodes, liver, lungs and 7 different bone metastasis.

Currently, I am on Chemo and Hormone Therapy (just had my second dose last Friday)

Just wanted to let my peeps know, as Cancer is such an alone disease, thinking somehow we are genetic freaks, or that we lost the fucking lotto or maybe we can possibly beat this before anyone notices.

(Most of my hair is gone already so I shaved it off, you can notice!)

Awareness is the best defence I believe. My symptoms were quick and swift then went away.

(thought it was kidney stones) It was during Covid and doctors and options were limited. So this went untreated for approx 16 months and spread like wildfire with the aggression of 10/10 which compounded the situation Immensely.

Just be aware of your bodies. Go get checked every year for the killers (prostate, rectal, breast, cervix/ ovarian). They say Cancer will increase 70% by 2030 because of the food hormones, plastics, pesticides etc we are slowly being poisoned.

Maybe my situation can open people's eyes, and possibly save some lives, don’t put things off when it comes to your health, do it today not tomorrow. Don’t think small think the worst and get everything checked, we pay for the health care.

Even though Alex is going through the fight of his life, he still took the time to open up about his journey and try to educate others in hopes he can help someone else.

Going through cancer is one of the hardest battles a person can face. It tears you apart physically, brings you to your knees emotionally and in some cases, it also has a significant financial impact.

We might not be able to take on someone's emotional or physical pain, but we can help Alex focus on his health by helping ease some of the financial burdens that come with treatment and support. Most hospitals don't cover parking, taking time off work means less income to support his family, some medications are not fully covered, not to mention appointments and tests mean gas and I don't have to tell anyone how expensive that is nowadays.

This holiday season please help me give the gift of peace of mind to Alex and his family so they can focus on fighting this terrible disease and their family.
