Project Haiti, Cite Soleil

Donation protected
Project Haiti has been a conscious collective of heart warming relief aid that has been created for the struggling people in the country Haiti.

This humanitarian act of giving back has been formed by 5 university students here in the Milwaukee area.

The founder of this project, Steven Duclair grew up in the country haiti and knows first hand of the struggles his own family has endured throughout the years and the struggles the country is still dealing with today after the storms that hit the island in 2012.

Our team will fly down to Haiti on August 9th and stay for 12 days.

Our time there will be spent on:
Building several water filtration system for a children’s community center.
Handing out donated shoes to children and families who are walking barefoot.
Donating financially to local food markets & distributing these free of cost.
Purchasing women’s health products at locally owned businesses to give to women in need.
Providing help to families in local hospitals to fund their personal medical expenses.

How Can You Provide Help?
Donating as little as $10 can help distribution of personal medical expenses & hygiene products to the locals.
Donating shoes to one of drop off locations (Locations listed below)
Sponsoring our trip to haiti so we can provide the most that we can while we are there.
Sharing our story to others so that we can keep the gift of giving to those who are struggling.

Water Filtration System

According to the United Nations World Food Programme, less than half the population has access to clean drinking water, a rate that compares poorly even with other less-developed nations.

Sakala Children’s Community Center in Cité Soleil is allowing us to build a permanent water filter on their property as a donation to their agronomy program.

They have organized a day for us to teach local children that come to their facility about making their own personal water filters.

This filter is in the experimental stages of development, and we are testing many models supported by a few staff members at the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences.

Distribution Of Shoes

Our team is collecting shoes from many schools and organizations around Milwaukee such as, Wisconsin Medical College on water town plank rd, Saint Robert Middle school in Shorewood, Macy's department store at Mayfair mall, Plymouth Church and others.

These shoes will be shipped to Haiti and we will distribute them personally to children and families walking barefoot in the city.

Financial Donations for hospitals/ food distribution

Concerns that have been expressed from locals about orphans in hospitals to children that are sick and have no one to provide food for them, let alone the medicines to cure their illnesses.

The funds that we raise will purchase large quantities of rice and beans from local markets that we will distribute to families with young children.

We will be purchasing women’s health products and child care products to give to expecting mothers in Cité Soleil, and we will also be purchasing medicines for orphans.
