Project Fear - Around the World
Donation protected
On the 30th June in my boat Fear I set the record as the first wheelchair user and first female to complete a solo, non-stop and unassisted circumnavigation of the UK and Ireland. I completed the challenge in 29 days and raised over £55,000 for Newhaven and Seaford Sailability, an organization that gives other people with disabilities the chance to experience the joy and the freedom of sailing.
My challenge, named Project Fear was born from being given a life limiting diagnosis. In the face of living on a shorter timeline rather than wait to die I decided to chase my dreams and Face Everything And Rise (F.E.A.R).
Since completing my first challenge seeing the reach and impact it has had has encouraged me to continue pushing. I now want to go one step further and take on the Everest of sailing, a solo, non-stop and unassisted circumnavigation of the world.
I will be entering the WorldStar Race which leaves Plymouth on the 27th September 2026. To compete in this race I need a boat larger than 35ft and I need to equip it with the right kit to take me around the world. To do that I need support.
All the donations will go towards sourcing and equipping the boat as well giving me enough to live off while the campaign runs.
Together I'm hoping that again we can show that with a little bit of imagination and an awful lot of hard work anything is possible.
