CHAB is a school in Siem Reap, Cambodia that was started by Mr. Bona Kim and is registered in the Interior Ministry of Cambodia. Many people have visited (friends, my family, myself, and people who I haven't met in person, but who I have been in contact with after their visits).
CHAB was getting funding from a nearby tourist hotel that shared some of their profits, but the hotel was sold, and there was no more funding. After meeting Bona, I decided to start this page, and my amazing friends and family have been helping to keep this school afloat since 2016! Happy 10-year anniversary!
The kids are from small villages and don't have access to the same resources as other kids. At CHAB School, they mainly learn English so that they can have better opportunities in the future. Likewise, children in Cambodia can easily fall into bad situations, and CHAB School takes the kids off the street and puts them in the classroom, away from any kind of child labor.
The kids learn how to take care of themselves and others. We also have holiday parties sometimes with some of the funds raised! We have parties for Christmas, and Pchum Ben. We like to help the kids be able to celebrate their culture and country when Pchum Ben arrives. We started a tour company in Siem Reap as well; it is called Eco-Village Tours (check us out on TripAdvisor). All of the proceeds go to CHAB School. So far, many friends of ours have been great supporters. You can see historical sites and visit CHAB School on the tour.
Your donations will go toward giving the volunteer teachers some pay, keeping the electricity at school running, paying for school materials. Any leftovers will be used to have small parties for the big holidays. As you can see, the students at CHAB School show up rain or shine, electricity or no electricity!
