ኣብ ከተማ ፖርትስማውዝ እንርከብ ኤርትራውያን ኣመንቲ ኦርቶዶክሳዊት ተዋህዶ ቤተ-ክርስትያን፡ ቤተ-ክርስትያን ንምግዛእ ፕሮጀክት ቤትኤል ዝሰመናዮ ገንዘብ ናይ ምእካብ ጉዕዞ ጀሚርና ኣለና እሞ ዓቅምኹም ክትሕግዙና ብስም ቅዱስ ገብርኤል ንምሕጸን።

ኣብዚ ከተማ ንብዙሓት ኤርትራውያንን ኢትዮጵያውያንን ኣመንቲ ክርስትያናዊ ኣገልግሎት ንህብ። ይኹን እምበር ብሰንኪ ቀዋሚ ቦታ ዘይምህላዉ ኣብ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ሰሙን ግዝያዊ ቤት መቕደስ ንሰርሕ`’ሞ ድሕሪ ኣገልግሎት ድማ ድማ ነፍርሶ። ታቦትና ኣብ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ሰሙን ካብ ቦታ ናብ ክግዕዝ ከልበትበት ከፊእዎ ይርከብ። ብተወሳኺ ናይ ክራይ ኣደራሽ ብምዃኑ ኣገልግሎት ቅዳሴ ብተብተብ ክውዳእ ወይውን ብሰንኪ ስእነት ከይተኻየደ ክተርፍ ይርከብ። ምስ ኩሉ ጸገማትና እምናትና ኣጽኒዕና ንኸይድ ኣለና።

እዛ ቤተ ክርስቲያን እዚኣ፡

ማእከል መንፈሳዊ ምጽንናዕ፣ ማእከል ምዕቃብ ባህልን ቋንቋን፡ ንሓደስቲ ዝመጹ ስድራቤታትን ናይ መራኸብን መላለይን ቦታ፣ ኣብ ሕብረተሰብና ድማ ምልክት ተስፋን ሓድነትን ኮይና ትቕጽል ኣላ።

እንሓተኩም ዘለና፡

ኣምላኽና ኣሚንና፡ ቀዋሚ ቤተክርስትያን ንምግዛእ ወይውን ንምስራሕ ዝኸውን ገንዘብ ንምእካብ ብእምነት ተበጊስና ኣለና`ሞ ብገንዘብ፣ ብሞራልን ፍልጠትን ሓግዙና።

ናይ ገዛእ ርእስና ቤተ ክርስቲያን ምህላው ዝህበና ጥቕሚ፡

ብዘይ ናይ ግዜ ገደብ ኣምልኾና ክንፍጽም ክሕግዘና እዩ። ብዘይካ’ዚ ንደቅና ናይ ተዋህዶ እምነት፡ ባህሊ፡ ቋንቋን ዝምሃሩሉ ማእከል ክንፈጥር ኢና ። ተሰዲዶም ዝመጹ ሓደስቲ የሕዋትን ኣሓትን ብመንፈሳዊ፡ ስምዒታውን ማሕበራውን መዳይ ክንድግፎም ክሕግዘና እዩ። ኣብ ፖርትስማውዝ ሓያልን ብእምነት ዝመላለስን ሕብረተሰብ ክንፈጥር ክሕግዘና እዩ።

ከመይ ጌርኩም ክትሕግዙና ትኽእሉ፡

ልብኹም ዝፈቐዶ ብዓቕምኹም ክትሕግዙና ንልምነኩም። ኣብ ዓይኒ ኣምላኽ ንእሽተይ ውህበት የለን፡ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ፓውንድ ድማ ናብቲ ሕልምና ሓንቲ ስጉሚ ከተቕርበና እያ።

ወፈያኹም ብቐጥታ ናብ ምዕዳግ ናይዚ ቤተክርስትያን ከምዝውዕል ብስም እግዚኣብሄር ኣምላኽ ቃል ንኣትወልኩም።

We, the congregation of St. Gabriel Eritrean Orthodox Church – Portsmouth, UK, are a growing community of Eritrean Orthodox Christians. Many of our members are refugees and families seeking stability, faith, and belonging in a new country.

Every weekend, our devoted volunteers build a temporary altar in hired church halls so we can celebrate the Divine Liturgy. After the service, it must be dismantled again. This routine is not only physically difficult but also costly due to ongoing hall rental fees. Our altar, a sacred object, should be revered—not moved from place to place. Despite these hardships, our faith remains unshaken.

This church has become:

A place of spiritual comfort, a hub for cultural and language preservation, a safe space for newly arrived families and children, and a symbol of hope and unity in our community.

What We’re Asking:

With God leading the way, we are stepping forward in faith to raise funds for a permanent church building — a true home for worship.

Having a church of our own will allow us to:

Worship freely without time restrictions or the need to rent, teach our children the Orthodox Tewahdo faith, culture, and language, support refugee families spiritually, emotionally, and socially, build a stronger, visible presence of faith in Portsmouth.
