Mind Body Institute, LLC is raising funds for Julia Mims, one of its instructors, who is currently out on medical leave.

Mims has been a therapist for over 20 years and an instructor for well over 10. She is a beloved member of the massage community, especially in her role as an instructor, and right now she is unable to work as either a massage therapist or a teacher while she focuses on her health and recovery.

Because Mims cannot work during this time, she is facing not only her normal bills but also significant medical expenses. Her medical bills are expected to be several tens of thousands of dollars. The MBI administrators, instructors, students, and alumni are coming together to help her offset some of the financial burden at a time when her energy needs to be on healing.

MBI is hosting donation-only CE classes, but many people who are not able to attend still want to help, which is why this GoFundMe exists.

Mims is known for saying, “You’re not sorry, you’re awesome” when anyone apologizes, so we are calling this fundraiser Project Awesome in her honor.

How the funds will help:

• All funds will go directly to Mims
• They will help cover or offset her medical bills
• They will also help with her normal living expenses while she is unable to work
