Project Amigo Backpack and School Supplies Campaign
Donation protected
Project Amigo Canada Society works with children in Suchitlan, Colima, Mexico to lift them out of poverty. Most really poor children do not stay in school past Grade 3 without some financial support. Project Amigo's team on site identify children with potential who are living in extremely poor circumstances and recommends them to join the program. Once in the program the children must maintain an 85% average and volunteer 10 hours each month.
When they are ready to attend Grade 7 they need additional school supplies which they simply can't afford. By providing a backpack filled with school supplies these children can confidently continue their education.
Project Amigo has seen over 1,000 children graduate from high school and in most cases be the first of their family to do so. By the end of June 2024 we will have had 136 students graduate from college with 6 of the students obtaining Masters degrees.
The program changes lives and breaks the poverty cycle. We are fundraising for 83 backpacks. Each fully supplied backpack will cost $116.00. We hope you will consider sponsoring a backpack and sharing this link with friends, family, community groups etc.
We are collecting funds through this GoFundMe platform as well as direct e-transfers to Project Amigo Canada Society where we are targeting another $5,000.00 for a total of raising $10,000.00.
Thank you.
