Project 212 (FIRST Team 7137) is a robotics team from Concord, California established in 2018. We are led by highly-motivated students, supported by experienced mentors and sponsored by generous community partners. Project 212 is based in Ygnacio Valley High School - a Title 1 school in the Mount Diablo Unified School District (MDUSD). 79.5% of our population are Hispanics- an underrepresented group in STEM fields. Like the gears in our logo, of various types and sizes, we are all different and don’t fit perfectly, and yet we ‘mesh’ as one family. In 2018, we received the Rookie All-Star Award in the FIRST Robotics Competition San Francisco Regional. Judges recognized
our team’s strong partnership effort with community partners and our enthusiasm to inspire students to learn more about Science and Technology.
Project 212 participates in FIRST Robotics Competition - an international robotics
competition operated by the nonprofit organization FIRST® (For Inspiration and
Recognition of Science and Technology). The mission of FIRST® is to inspire young students to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities, including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
