The Lake District was a very special place for Vic — somewhere he returned to again and again with family and friends, always with his cherished collection of Wainwright guides, recording the dates of his walks and the names of his companions.

In his memory, we plan to dedicate a lasting memorial in the Lake District, such as a bench, which the Lake District Foundation has indicated will cost £750–1,000.
