Edit:
We got Pickles CT results back and it's not good. He has cancer and where it is and with how big it is there is nothing that can be done. The vet is going to give him some meds to help him sleep this week, but I will have to say goodbye to my special little man on Saturday. I increased the GoFundMe from the 1700 to 4000 because that includes the previous 1700, it wouldn't let me put the new amount as it's own amount. Also GoFundMe takes a cut which o didn't realize so it is good I made over my goal last time because that helped cover the GoFundMe fee I didn't think of. The new amount will be going towards the new meds, his euthanasia, cremation, and his afterlife care(urns and such). I also included a little bit more because I know I'm not going to be able to work for a few days after this. I just work retail and we don't get bereavement pay or paid days off. I barely make my rent as it is and missing any shifts will be not something I can afford. I know I will need the time off for a few days to grieve.
Anything you can do to help me get to my goal would be greatly appreciated.
Pickles was very loved and I know he feels it from everyone.
Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm here to ask for help for my pug, Professor Pickles II.
A little bit about what is going on. He's been having a lot of breathing issues which is not normal for him. A lot of pugs have breathing issues but he's never had it his entire life. He can't breathe and is even struggling harder to breath when he lays down. He's been falling asleep on his feet and falling over because he's not sleeping I also think it's because he's not getting proper oxygen so he's getting light-headed and falling from that. We've been in and out of the emergency vet since the beginning of the year. Trying to figure out what's going on and why he can't breathe. It's been significantly getting worse over the last few weeks so he went back in again to the emergency vet and they said he needs a CT scan since all other meds have not worked. The CT scan would also mean blood work.
The cost for the CT scan and blood work is not cheap and I've already spent so much money on these past emergency visits that I've even had to use my rent money. But he comes first.
Since the last emergency vet appointment on Wednesday, he since gotten worse and started developing nosebleeds so he needs to go in for this test as soon as he can.
For the CT scan and blood work I was quoted with tax around $1700. I have looked into other organizations to help with funding and all of them have denied me because they don't cover the procedure and I don't qualify for loans. And because he's my service dog of even looked into organizations that help with that and there's nothing for his type of service dog that I can find.
A little bit about Pickles.
He's 9 years old and not only is he the center of my universe, he's also my seizure alert service dog. He's such a silly guy, whenever I'm not feeling good because I'm recovering after a seizure he always tries to do something to make me laugh and smile. He always knows when I'm not well. All I want to do now is make him well because he's always there for me when I'm sick. I don't know what I would do without him. I love him so much.
Once we get the CT scan done and we know what's going on with him, I might have to adjust the amount based on what the outcome is for treatment but this is where we're going to start.
Anything you can do to help pickles whether it's donating or sharing his story is super helpful. Thank you so much from me and Pickles to everyone.
