Hello everyone! My name is Roger Cuadrado, 28, I am a professional ballet and modern dancer from Barcelona Spain who previously worked as a Soloist at Czech National Ballet in Prague and at Stuttgart Ballet.

I am starting this gofoundme to help me cover the costs of surgery and rehabilitation of my foot. Being a freelancer can be tougher that it seems specially dealing with contracts and insurances. Far more if you are not in your Homeland.

I had an accident in Costa Rica where I started dancing for different companies and productions as a guest artist but the country’s and company’s policy for freelance artist do not contemplate to insure the artist since it is not a “stable job”.

The medical report is that I have 3 cut tendons 1 totally damaged and 2 partially which they had to clean, explore, reconstruct and connect and saw the skin back together.

Fortunately the surgery went well and I am recovering at home at the moment, but since I am a tourist and did not have a company insurance I will have to pay all the costs myself and with the help of my family.

Here the following costs:

• Emergency Hospital: 150 $

• Specialists Visit + Antibiotics: 300$

• Hospital Surgery Fee: 1600 $

• Specialist Doctor Honorary for Surgery: 3200 $

• Anastesiologyst: 650 $

• Specialist Assistent: 550 $

• Post surgery Rehab (Specialists visito, Recovery, Medicine): 900 $

• Rent : 600 $

As I am in another country I also have to pay my rent and costs of traveling for the rehabs and costs of living. As soon as they take my orthopedic boot of my foot in 6 weeks I will be able to work and produce money and restore my economy slowly again.

Estoy iniciando este gofoundme para ayudarme a cubrir los costos de la cirugía y rehabilitación de mi pie. Ser freelancer puede ser más difícil de lo que parece, especialmente cuando se trata de contratos y seguros. Mucho más si no estás en tu país de origen.

Tuve un accidente en Costa Rica donde comencé a bailar para diferentes compañías y producciones como artista invitada pero la política del país y de la compañía para artista freelance no contempla asegurar al artista ya que no es un “trabajo estable”.

El informe médico es que tengo 3 tendones cortados 1 totalmente dañado y 2 parcialmente los cuales tuvieron que limpiar, explorar, reconstruir y conectar y volver a unir la piel. Afortunadamente la operación salió bien y en este momento me estoy recuperando en casa, pero como soy turista y no tenía un seguro de compañía tendré que pagar todos los costos yo mismo y con la ayuda de mi familia.

Aquí los siguientes costos:

• Urgencias Hospitalarias: 150 $

• Visita Especialistas + Antibióticos: 300$

• Tarifa de Cirugía Hospitalaria: 1600 $

Como estoy en otro país, también tengo que pagar el alquiler y los gastos de viaje para las rehabilitaciones y los gastos de vida. Tan pronto como me quiten la bota ortopédica de mi pie en 6 semanas podré trabajar y producir dinero y restaurar mi economía lentamente nuevamente.

Quiero agradecer primero a toda mi familia por el apoyo que enviaron desde España y a toda la gente local de Costa Arica, desde amigos, bailarines, profesores, médicos.. Y también todo el apoyo recibido de amigos y personas en las redes sociales por el cariño recibido.
