Hi, my name is Alexis DePaolo and I am a cello student currently getting my undergraduate degree in music performance at the Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana. I aspire to perform and play cello professionally. I hope to one day play in a major orchestra, and also would love to teach and play chamber and solo music in many community settings.
As I further continue my education, and integral part of my progression and improvement as a cellist will involve investing in a higher quality instrument. The quality of sound and tone found in a more professional-level instrument will help me develop musically - especially taking auditions, playing recitals, and performing as a pre-professional. Currently I play on the first instrument I was lucky enough to be the owner of, an $8,000 full size student cello. The “next-level up” would be in the $20-40,000 range, which is a huge financial commitment for my family.
Recently, I won the college-division of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s young artist competition, and soloed with the orchestra this April 2022. It was an amazing experience and fueled my passion for sharing music with others. I am so exited to be giving a solo recital in Casper this June, and hope to continue playing concerts for the community indefinitely. Whether in person after the recital or via this page, I am truly grateful for any amount you are able to give as it would help me achieve one of my biggest dreams in life.
