ProEgo FC to Run 10k for WaterAid!
Having formed this group nearly 5 years ago, I would never have expected for it to have grown into what it has become today. Not only is it a football group but it also serves as a strong support network and a base to push each other to be better versions of ourselves, particularly in fitness and health. Old friends have been reunited and new friendships continue to form.
Despite many obstacles, including a hiatus due to the pandemic, we have been going strong with attendance growing and football matches every week.
One big obstacle, was the cardiac arrest of a fellow team mate and friend which happened on the day of a football match. Through all of this, strong bonds and lifelong relationships have developed during the course of the last few years.
Thank God, our friend survived the cardiac arrest and to this day he is involved in many charitable ventures. Reflecting on our experience, we considered ways we could commit ourselves to charitable work as a group to further bring us closer together as well as giving back to those less fortunate.
We decided to do the RunThrough Regent's Park 10k on 26th November and will be running for WaterAid!
We are hopeful that this 10k run will be a great starting point and the first of many opportunities for us to not only raise money for those in need but also motivate us to continue with our self-progress.
We are super excited to be running for WaterAid and hope our efforts have the positive effect we intend for it to have!
Thanking you in advance for all of your support!!!
