Hi there! My name is Sadie Pillion-Gardner and I am hoping you can help my team and me bring our creative visions to life! Together with Artistic Director and Founder of Unusual Suspects Productions, Annalisa D’Aguilar, we are in the process of our second full production of my original one act, CLOSER. In August, CLOSER was a part of The Gene Frankle Theatre Festival and this Fall we are lucky enough to be a part of FRIGID’S The Day of The Dead Festival. Our first production was an incredible, hands on experience that allowed us to explore the world of the play and continue to build on the characters. This second production will see a more enriched narrative, complex characters and heightened tech. Although CLOSER’s first production was a creative success, it was a financial difficulty. My team and I poured our hearts and wallets into CLOSER and now we are hoping for a little bit of help from you for our second production! Any donation is deeply appreciated! This money will go towards rehearsal space rentals, costumes, props, set pieces, cast needs and more! SYNOPSIS
Two sisters are forever trapped inside a painting. By day, they sit peacefully around a fountain, exchanging seemingly meaningless pleasantries. As night falls, their captor’s demands return. To keep the art fresh, and themselves alive, they must deliver monthly offerings. With the deadline approaching, the sisters clash, torn between morality and immortality. This haunting horror delves into the depth of a sister’s bond and asks: What wouldn’t we sacrifice to stay young forever?
