Hi, my name is Davis Coen and I'm a lifelong musician. I've proudly released 11 full-length albums over my two-decade career - for the most part, independently.

My father passed away in July, 2000 from complications related to Alzheimer's disease. Also a musician, he had hours of deteriorating tape cassettes of home recordings, which I restored in an effort to produce a tribute album of his original compositions.

This is due to a rise in studio costs, production costs, mailing costs...about any cost you can name, the album is only currently half-finished.

Also multiple rejections for modest grants from Mississippi Arts Commission and Alzheimer's Association for a tribute album has proven a major hindrance.

Several tracks have been recorded, but the prospect of paying musicians and engineers out of pocket for the completion of an album assures an unforeseeable completion date. Also, the photographer or album design fee, and particularly the price of a compact disc manufacturing - still essential for both digital and terrestrial radio play - is a daunting factor.
