We envision a nationwide worship movement, where thousands of voices—across cities, churches, schools and denominations can unite through music, singing an official new arrangement of Graham Kendrick's worship song ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ . This project is not just about reimagining a beloved song—it’s about proclaiming God’s light, love, and hope over the nation in a powerful and unified movement of worship.
We would ask for your support to help us make this vision a reality.
This is a not-for-profit project, and we are asking for funding to cover the production costs, as we will need to rely on the generosity of individual supporters, churches, and organisations to bring this project to life.
Through your contribution it will enable us to:
o Professionally record and produce the new arrangement.
o Pay for studio rental and recording fees.
o Pay for a professional videographer to document the journey.
o Create resources and promotional materials for churches and schools.
o Host and livestream a nationwide worship event.
Why This Project Matters
For decades, the song ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ has been an anthem of hope and revival, stirring hearts with its timeless message of God’s transforming power.
In today’s world facing division, uncertainty and spiritual longing, this project offers a fresh expression of faith and unity.
Our prayer and vision for this project is that it will:
• Inspire a new generation of worshippers with a timeless anthem.
• Create a spiritual ripple effect, as hearts are awakened and encouraged.
• Proclaim God’s light over our nation in a powerful, unified declaration.
A Call to Action
We invite you to stand with us—as individuals, churches, and organisations—investing your time, resources, and prayers into this vision. Together, let’s shine the light of Christ across the nation.
Let’s unite in one voice, one song, and one faith—lifting high the name of Jesus and declaring, “Shine, Jesus, Shine!”
About the Visionaries Behind the Project:
Nicole Hobday
As a teenager first experiencing Graham Kendrick’s song at a Christian youth camp in 1988, it was Nicole’s vision that the people in the UK should be united in voice singing ‘Shine Jesus Shine’ across the nation. Having previously worked and collaborated with Steve Thompson on other music projects, and following the riots in Southport in the UK in 2024, she knew that the time was now to make this vision a reality and reached out to Steve.
Nicole is an established music teacher and specialist in teaching piano, music theory and voice, with over 35 years’ experience in music education.
Steve Thompson
Steve has been involved in the music industry for over three decades, being a multi-instrumentalist, record-producer, music composer and arranger. He has worked as a Musical Director for Graham Kendrick, a well-known songwriter for over 25 years, having worked extensively with him and many other artists around the globe.
He worked in the context of music productions, song writing, conferences and overseas church-related work. Steve has now travelled to over 130 countries! Over the last 20 years, he has also worked as a regular arranger and musical director for Songs Of Praise.
As well as being a part-time lecturer at London School of Theology, Steve and his wife (Velveta Thompson) a professional singer in her own right founded BeracahMusic International, a Publishing House and Music & Production Company.
Graham Kendrick
Graham Kendrick has been described as a ‘father of modern worship music’ whose songs are ‘crammed full of poetic, divine, biblical truth’ that have ‘sculpted a view of God that has impacted generations.’ In short, Graham writes songs that help the church to sing.
Since the release of his first album in 1972 Graham has been at the forefront of contemporary Christian music in the UK having written and recorded over 450 songs, many of which are sung around the world, including ‘Shine Jesus Shine’.
He is based in the UK and travels internationally participating in tours, festivals, conferences and training events, as a worship leader, speaker and performer.
Graham was one of the founders and the songwriter behind the global phenomenon March for Jesus, which mobilised millions of Christians to ‘take the walls off the church’ and bring praise, prayer and acts of goodwill and reconciliation on to the streets.
