JOE QUEEN is a surreal tale of obsession in the lineage of queer survival.
In the latest cinematic offering from director Nicky Miller detective George Stein is sent to investigate a body found in a Berlin Forest. Inside its mouth lays the hair from an apparently extinct species of tarantula. When JOE QUEEN leaves Berlin with her friends for a secret island, detective George Stein follows and quickly becomes entangled in a web of obsession, desire and ritual. As his desires take over Stein begins to unravel, subservient to the magic of queer occult, lust and pleasure divine.
Sacrificing himself the hunter becomes the hunted.
