Help Save My Dad
Dear friends, family, compassionate souls, and a special shoutout to our entire plumbing community. I never thought I would find myself writing a plea like this, but here I am, asking for your help in the most difficult battle of my life. My dad, my hero, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, and our world has been turned upside down.
The cancer Metastasized, which means it has started to move to other parts of the body through his bloodstream. His Oncologist put a rush on all scans and got him in for an emergency port surgery so he can start chemo and targeted radiation immediately. As most of you know, health insurance companies don't like to cover most scans, tests, surgeries , or even chemo so it has all been all out of pocket for our family.
Right now we are on track to start chemo next week if we can get them to cover it. His doctor said surgery is not an option at this point because there are to many tumors in his lungs. The sooner we start the more time we have with our dad.
For those of you who know him, you'll understand why he's so loved. He's not just a father; he's a friend, a mentor, and the rock of our family. He has a wife of 30 yrs (my mom), 8 kids and 15 grandchildren. He has given his entire life to the plumbing industry. All of the long days and hours he put in, earning a masters degree even though it meant not seeing his family as often as he would have liked. He stood up at the capital in Austin, rallied other plumbers to come and show that licensed plumbers in Texas Stand up for what they believe in and spoke from his heart to thousands in order to save plumbing licensensing in the state of Texas.
His smile could light up a room, and his laughter is infectious. He has always been there for us, and for most of you, through thick and thin, and now it's our turn to be here for him.
Cancer doesn't discriminate, and it doesn't wait for the right moment. It has hit us hard and fast, leaving us grappling with medical bills, treatment costs, and the uncertainty of what lies ahead. As much as we wish we could shoulder this burden alone, the reality is that we can't.That's why I'm reaching out to you, our extended family, our community, and anyone who can spare even a little bit to help us in this fight.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards easing the financial strain of treatment, medication, and care. Your support will give us hope. Hope that there are people out there who care, who understand, and who are willing to stand by us like he has stood by so many before.
Please, if you can, donate to our cause. Share our story, spread the word, and let's rally together to give my dad the fighting chance he deserves. Together, we can make a difference, and together, we can help save my dad's life.Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Amber Renfro & Family
