Priyankar's Family Fundraiser

We recently learned of the passing of one of our dearest friends and most ardent supporters. Priyankar “Pri” Balekai defined what it meant to be selfless. His actions and words left an indelible mark on each person who had the good fortune to meet him. Pri was an anchor everywhere he went and energized his peers with guided optimism and steadfast mentorship.

Pri’s selflessness was exceeded only by one other attribute: his humility. Despite being an expert engineer with 20+ years of experience in automotive product development, Pri fielded questions—even the most basic—with patience and enthusiasm. For Pri such questions prompted a soft smile and a willingness to educate.

As I write my eyes well up confronting the fact that we will no longer be able to have those late-night phone calls with him to discuss the transportation industry we came to love. Solace comes in knowing Pri taught hundreds (including myself) how to better lead. As a result, his style of mentorship will spread for decades to come.

Pri’s selflessness was second only to the kindness of his better half, Bandana. Her outlook on life mirrors her husband’s and is shaped by one definitional question: How can I better serve those around me?

Bandana is excitedly expecting her and Pri’s first child in the coming months. Our wish is that Bandana is returned the love and support she and Pri tirelessly provided to countless others. We have set up this fund to support Bandana as she navigates this difficult time and to embody the generous spirit Pri shared with us.
