Hi, I wanted to start a fundraiser in the hopes that I may be able to raise enough funds to support getting my 16 year old daughter the help she needs with her mental health.

My daughter has suffered with her mental health for years and has been under the care provided by the NHS of CAHMS, however they have done nothing but fail my daughter every step of the way.

She is diagnosed with multiple mental health problems including emotional disregulation disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, anorexia nervosa and is awaiting investigation for ASD.

2 years ago she was also diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, this has only made her mental health worse, with crohns she’s in and out of hospital a lot with keep having flare ups, appointments, admissions for weeks at a time, we nearly lost her on a couple of occasions due to her symptoms. She had to be home tutored and couldn’t go into school due to how poorly she was, which in turn isolated her from the outside world because she was too poorly to go out with her symptoms, especially with her knee pains and her extreme fatigue (she sleeps for most of the day on most days), this made her mental health so much worse, she’s also recently been diagnosed with POTS which is just another blow for her.

she’s attempted suicide on multiple occasions with 2 of these occasions needing her to be admitted into the high dependency unit for almost a week each time. She self harms to the point where she needs stitches or glue, needed help from the burns unit to treat her burns.

Cahms just doesn’t give her the intensive care she desperately needs, I tried to get them to section her for a bit for more intensive treatment, but in their words “she would need to practically hang herself before that would be considered”, the multiple attempts apparently still aren’t enough, they’ve passed her around multiple different health workers, she’s never seen on a regular basis, the crisis team came out for her once and because she wouldn’t communicate with them they gave up on her and never came around again, currently she hasn’t seen anyone on Cahms for over 3 months, they just don’t care, this is despite calls from myself telling them she really needs help. I’m worried that if I can’t get her some proper help that she’s not going to be here soon.

I know it’s a long shot, but I’m just really hoping as a last resort that I can raise enough money to be able to get her private mental health care, where she can get real help and more intensive treatment.

I know that she’s going to need ongoing care for a while, which is why I’ve set the target at £5000, this would get her some appointments set up that will last a few months at least, I know in the long run it will end up costing more than that because she may need this kind of help for a few years, but it’s a start, it may even cover the cost of inpatient treatment if they decide that’s needed.

I really just wanted to try this and see if I can get her help this way, because I refuse to give up on her and the thought of losing her terrifies me.
