Hi,
for the past 16 months I have been a carer to my wife and mother of my 6yr old daughter.
16 months ago my wife suffered her first ever Seizure, this turned out to be Epilepsy.
The NHS have tried all they can to support and stop the seizures, however the long waits to get back to consultants and the limit on treatment is causing my wife’s epilepsy to continually get worse.
we currently face around 3 Seizures per week, this is extremely limiting my wife’s quality of life and having a detrimental effect on me and my daughter.
My wife unfortunately has received numerous injuries whilst seizing when not expecting it by hitting herself on items around the house.
the Epilepsy has compounded her health further and makes it dangerous for her to be around the house.
I have been very proud and trying my all to support my family over the last year and a half but now am struggling to find the means to make safety changes to our house.
we also need further testing that isn’t funded by the NHS until they have exhausted all medication, however the continued seizures are a real risk to my wife and our family.
i know times are difficult for everyone but any support anyone can give would be hugely appreciated by me and the family.
My Daughter has been amazing and has had to grow up very quickly to adapt to having to support her mom.
Thankyou for reading
