Hi, my name is Ewa.
I’m a 35-year-old mum of two beautiful girls. For the past year and a half, my life has been taken over by severe pain caused by adenomyosis and suspected endometriosis.
My health problems started getting worse in October 2024. What began as painful periods quickly became something much more serious not only affecting my physical health but also mental health. I started fainting from the pain, sometimes even losing consciousness at work. Since then, my condition has continued to decline.
Some days I am unable to walk because of the pain. During the worst flare-ups, my partner has to carry me just so I can get to the bathroom. Ambulances have been called many times when the pain became unbearable. Hospital visits often end with morphine, scans, and tests—but still no clear answers or solutions.
Despite how severe my symptoms are, my MRI results showed only “mild” adenomyosis. Yet the reality of my daily life is anything but mild.
The hardest part is how this affects my family. My daughters are still very young, and they often ask, “Is mummy poorly again?” My oldest worries about whether I will come back home when I go to hospital. It breaks my heart that they have to think about things like that.
I’m currently waiting for further investigation through the NHS, but the waiting times are long and my condition is getting worse. My GP has tried contacting the gynaecology team, but we still don’t know when the next step will happen.
That’s why I’m asking for help. I need private treatment which is really expensive but this hopefully give me a chance to get my life back.
My children deserve a healthy mum. My partner deserves a partner, not a patient. And I just want the chance to live a normal life again.
