Private care for marie mc dermot

julie skerritt, steven barry and ellen mc dermot are hoping to raise funds to get marie mc dermot private care to have her leg amputated and any follow up care needed which will include a new prosthetic leg and making her house more suitable for her needs and basically just to make her life a little easier. Ellen mc Dermot is Marie's daughter and is also her carer. Steven is Ellen's partner and julie is a family friend. Ellen has had an ongoing battle trying to get her mother Marie the treatment she needs but appointments keep getting cancelled. this has been going on for 2 and a half years and marie has been left with a very large open wound on her leg with bone and metal showing. she originally had a fall and broke her knee. a cage was placed on her leg with bars going inside her leg. however this was not ideal as it was way to heavy for her brittle bones. when the cage was taken off she was undergoing physio which was very painful as it turned out her knee was still broke. a knee replacement was then done however after a while she was told this was unsuccessful and that she would need her leg amputated. it's a year on and she has been left with this big open wound and she has just been left in this state and in constant pain. We feel the only way forward is to get this all done privately so we can end her suffering once and for all. No human should have to live like this. We are hoping to raise enough money to get marie mc dermot the care she needs and to get her leg sorted once and for all. we would love if we could raise enough so the family can get their mam sorted once and for all.
