Pristine and her Family

*UPDATE* So here we go again. Pristine’s ileostomy reversal was done, and she is not recovering as planned by the surgeons. Pristine’s reversal had left her in A LOT of constant pain for days on end not even being able to eat and sleep through it. Upon attempting to figure out what’s going on the surgeons decided that they were unable to get it figured out and made the decision to send us back to Nebraska to see what the specialist there could do for her. Hours before the medical transport flight, Pristine was uncontrollably vomiting and was rushed to emergency surgery again. Surgeons discovered that her intestines had once again twisted and She was given the ileostomy bag again as well as a feeding tube, due to severe malnourishment, and put back into recovery delaying the flight to Nebraska until she could get to a stable state mentally and physically. We’ve been waiting for her recovery and word back from Nebraska about when we can finally get to go. We’ve been pretty much living in the hospital because the way the medical transfer process works we have to be admitted to be approved for the inpatient transfer. So going back home has not been an option for some weeks now. Pristine’s mom Yvette has been on a leave of absence from work basically meaning no paycheck and her dogs are being cared for at her brothers house. We greatly appreciate all the support that we have received so far but or fight is far from over any help is greatly needed and appreciated please keep praying for us to make it through this difficult time with grace, peace of mind, strength, and understanding. Thanks again for taking the time to read respond and share this information
God Bless .
Hello, my name is Chris Bush and I’m raising money for my 9 year old daughter Pristine, and our family. In October of 2022 Pristine was rushed into an emergency surgery for a blockage in her intestinal tract that caused her intestine to twist, sort of like a kinked garden hose. Pristine’s emergency surgery resulted in a ileostomy bag being the only way to fix the issue. Pristine’s mother Yvette and myself, not sure if the ileostomy was a permanent solution or not. We were advised to find a pediatric gastrointestinal specialist. Unable to find a specialist to help us with Pristine in state we were forced to start looking for out of state specialists. After a long stressful recovery from Pristine’s first surgery resulting in a lot of time out of work for both Yvette and myself, we were now trying to learn how to care for our little girls new way of life, changing ostomy bags, cleaning a stoma, caring for the skin around the stoma, looking for a gastrointestinal specialist who could help us, and keeping a 9 year old girl positive and confident in her new way of life. Finally months after Pristine’s first surgery we found a specialist In Omaha Nebraska. We prepared for a 8 day visit to a hospital in Omaha. March 20th was our check-in to the Children’s Hospital in Omaha Nebraska, where Pristine was again treated and tested for a possible ileostomy reversal procedure. Tests results found that Pristine’s large intestine was not functioning at all which is the reason for the blockage and the ileostomy procedure. After we returned home from Nebraska, Pristine’s doctors and surgeons met discussing her results. The doctors came to a conclusion that Pristine’s bad large intestine could be removed rerouting her small intestine to the rectum and the ileostomy bag could be reversed. Yvette, her Grandparents, and myself were all very happy with the news that she would not have to live with the ostomy bag for the rest of her life. Surgery date was set for April 24, 2023 seven months after the first surgery in October 2022. Pristine went into surgery, thinking it was a successful operation she was sent home the beginning of May only to be rushed to surgery again on the 2nd. Pristine has not yet fully recovered always seeming to take one step forward and two steps backwards. Yvette and I have been in the hospital day in and day out resulting in weeks of missed work and bills piling up. Pristine is still in the hospital right now today is May 9, 2023. Any help with donations, or even prayer for recovery would be greatly appreciated. This entire ordeal has begun to put great strain on our family juggling bills, gas, groceries, and taking care of our other children is become so difficult. All and any help is greatly needed and appreciated. Thank you for your time and God Bless.
