Hello all! This is Jordana and I’m writing this on behalf of my amazing mom who many of you know and love. I have been reluctant to do this as many of you have been so kind, supportive, and generous already. But I know my mom touched many lives that are asking how they can help and support her during a very dark season in her life. So if you feel like this is the right way for you wonderful and if not, you are still doing so much to support her and I thank you!❤️

July 4th I received a call from my mom with muffled speech, saying she didn’t feel well. I asked her to repeat and realized she was slurring, she said “I think I’m having a stroke”. I told her to call 911 and the kids and I were there within 10 min. Obviously, all our lives changed that day and my dear independent mom lost so much. Her stroke was severe, effecting the left side of her brain, damaging her movement, cognition, eyesight, and speech. Through months of rehab she is amazingly seeing some increasing movement in her right arm and hand, walking short distances with a quad cane, and working on self care. She is relearning how to write letters and say words, but she understands everything I tell her. For the most part she is still confined to a wheelchair and needs help doing daily things, but she IS improving slowly and her personality and humor shines through.

After several requested tests, due to visual symptoms and swelling, she has heartbreakingly now been diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer. It has reached one lymph node at least and she will be having surgery soon when they will assess the spread further. She knows she has an even more daunting fight ahead than the one she is still fighting from the stroke.

Her goal is to be able to get home and fight this other diagnosis in the way she wishes with the support of the people she loves around her. Your donations will be used to support her nutrition, medical & mobility needs, housing, ongoing therapy, and personal needs until I can get her retirement going, which is unfortunately, a few months out as she is only 64.

Anything will help her, and your love and support already has more than I have had the bandwidth to always say❤️ My mom is definitely the best of us and despite the nightmare she is living, she remains motivated for the fight ahead. Although there are many tears, and many moments of overwhelming grief… there are still smiles, and laughs and joy woven through our days with her.

Thank you all, for the ❤️ and healing energy and prayers being sent her way
