Prinx Silver's Top Surgery

Donation protected

Hello beautiful humxns!

My artistic name is Prinx Silver (or Prinx for short). I'm a drag king, a transgender and non-binary advocate and a community organiser and activist.  I 'came out' as non-binary and transmasculine more than two years ago, when I had the language to express myself.

My chest (breasts) is the main source of dysphoria and anxiety (google gender dysphoria for info). Hence I wear binders every day to make my chest flat. However, it implies to have my chest and ribs compressed daily for 10 hours  (and sometimes more!).  This can be really dangerous as it produces back pain, ribs contractions and it's not ideal for breathing.  I also use sports tape to bind when I'm performing, which is becoming quite unbearable lately.  I have a large chest so I need to use a lot of tape to ease my dysphoria, causing blisters and wounds on my back.

Summertime, changing rooms, going swimming, being shirtless etc. are activities extremely distressful which I haven't been able to do or enjoy for a long time...

Good news though! This can change by having top surgery which is a gender confirmation surgery in which a person's breasts are removed and a surgeon creates a male chest.
Transgender healthcare through the NHS is unattainable cos the waiting lists are really long. It can take 2 years (or more) ONLY to get a first appointment at the gender identity clinic. In total it could take around 4 years or more to get actual surgery.  Basically torture!

However, through private medical care, the waiting time can be a few months to a year. Giving that I raised the money, I could be completely free and topless on a beach before Christmas 2020 (and considering Covid-19 doesn't delay things even more).
The cost of private surgery is quite high, hence I've decided to ask for your help. I've added a breakdown so that you have an idea...
- Appointment with gender psychiatrist: £300 (it could be 2 appointments = £600)
- Appointment with a surgeon: £300
- Surgery ranges from £6000-£8000 (depends on the person's breasts)
- Some after-care costs

I've set a goal of £6000 which should cover the surgery itself. I've been self-funding for a long time now to pay for appointments and to kick off the fundraiser.
I know it's a huge amount but any penny you can donate makes a difference, even if it's 1 pound!

This could be life-changing and would finally make me feel at home with my own identity and body.

Big love,
Prinx
