In 1975 my father Michael Quinn wrote and self-published a children's book called The Magic Sun Kyte in Goa, India. It's a story of two children, Benzel and Sonna, who enter an enchanted maze in a fairground and slip through a crack into a parallel dimension. There they find the Magic Sun Kyte and travel through the multiverse - encountering blue skinned pirates, dragons and the dark mage Zag.

I grew up with this wonderful bedtime tale, and am now illustrating the Magic Sun Kyte to bring it to new audiences. With the help of water colourist Ines Luisa and designer Donna Gee, the new edition is looking fantastic and nearing completion.

I believe reading bedtime stories to young children and introducing them to the world of books is one of the greatest gifts you can give for the development of their imagination and literacy.

This fundraiser is to raise funds to assist in the layout and printing of the first edition.
